Tuscany was the region in which the Italian Renaissance produced its first results. The unique artistic patrimony of this region includes architecture, painting and sculpture, collected in dozens of famous museums like the Uffizi in Florence and in situ in even quite small cities.
Tuscany is also known for its wines (most famous of which are Chianti, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino) and has 120 protected regions (nature reserves). Notable tourist destinations in Tuscany include Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Maremma (in Grosseto province), Crete Senesi, and Siena. Though it is famous for its villas, Tuscany is currently promoting "Agritourism" (Agriturismo), in which visitors stay on working farms.

Oratorio di Santa Maria e San Ranieri - Pisa in Tuscany
Near the residential villa are the parsonage and the oratory. The oratory was built between 1774 and 1784 on design of Mattia Tarocchi; the new building was erected during the restoration work of the villa, which began when it was bought by the count Francesco del Testa del Tignoso.
Tarocchi designed the interior and the relative decorations in order to create a scenic area where the space seems larger, between false constructions and real supporting structures. The figure-decorations were executed by Giovan Battista Tempesti.
