Sassetta, in Toskana
Sassetta, das alte, kleine und reizende Dorf an der Costa degli Etruschi, liegt zwischen Misch- und Kastanienwäldern auf dem Gipfel eines Hügels, von dem aus man den Meeresblick genießen kann.
Das Dorf war im Mittelalter eine Festung und verwahrt Zeugnisse dieser Vergangenheit, darunter, in der alten Kirche von Sant'Andrea Apostolo, ein romanisches Taufbecken und ein Tafelbild der Madonna aus dem 14. Jh, ein Kruzifix aus Bergkristall (15.-16. Jh.) und andere Gemälde.
In den grünen Wäldern der Umgebung, reich an Trekkingpfaden und Wanderwegen, die auch per Rad oder zu Pferd entdeckt werden können, findet der Gast agritouristische Betriebe sowie Verkaufsstellen für die typischen Produkte der Gegend.
In Sassetta, das für seine alten überlieferten Traditionen bekannt ist, finden sehr eindrucksvolle folkloristische veranstaltungen statt. Schmackhafte und unverfälschte Gerichte sind typisch für die Gastronomie von Sassetta, die im Herbst auf vielen Festen präsentiert wird.
