Pieve di San Martino, Palaia - Pisa in Toscana
La pieve costruita in laterizi alterna elementi sia romanici che gotici, anche se è stata restaurata nel secolo XIX. La facciata mostra tre portali e moltissimi piccoli archi, mentre l’ampio interno è suddiviso in tre navate con pilastri che reggono archi a tutto sesto.
La pieve sorge poco fuori il paese e ospita periodicamente importanti rassegne musicali e canore. L’interno è a tre navate con il presbiterio rialzato su cui si aprono tre cappelle e un’abside di forma semidecagonale. Di notevole importanza è la fonte battesimale in pietra, proveniente dall’antico tempio di Santa Maria in Ripezzano vicino Palaia, andato distrutto nella prima metà del Seicento.
